On June 16th, the winds of curiosity brought the bright young minds of Latsia Primary School to our Wind Farm for a dynamic learning experience—outdoors, hands-on, and powered by the elements!
The visit kicked off with a warm welcome from our Wind Farm Operations Manager, who personally greeted the students and teachers and accompanied them throughout the day, ensuring both safety and inspiration every step of the way.
Under the shade of the substation’s outdoor area, an open-air seminar introduced students to key concepts in the world of energy:
- Where energy comes from and how we produce it
- The future of renewable energy
- How wind energy is harnessed
- The inner workings and “secrets” of wind turbines
- And why workplace safety matters in energy operations
After a short break to recharge, with Cypriot snacks, the adventure continued with a walk to the nearest wind turbine crane pad, where students got up close to a towering turbine and saw just how massive these structures are in real life—a highlight of the day for many!
To cap it all off, a Quiz Challenge put their new knowledge to the test with small prizes for quick thinkers and sharp listeners. Laughter, learning, and a healthy sense of competition filled the air.
The day ended on a high note, with students taking home a small token of appreciation—and a head full of new ideas. Beyond the facts and figures, we hope the experience sparked imagination and a deeper connection to our planet’s future.
Special appreciation goes out to the teaching team from Agios Dometios School, whose careful coordination made this visit both smooth and impactful. It’s always a pleasure to share our space with those helping shape tomorrow’s leaders.
