In compliance with our environmental obligations, an intensive cleaning of the weeds in the wind farm area and the wind farm access road took place for another year. The intensive weed cleaning aims to:
- To prevent the spread of a possible fire on the wind farm premises,
- the cleanliness of the areas frequented by visitors and tourists to the wind farm to avoid contact with the poisonous snake in the area (fina) and
- the general cleanliness of the wind farm areas while the wind farm employees and partners visit for their work.
We only use costly and time-demanding mechanical means rather than the cheap and fast response chemical treatment solution. The reason is to protect the wildlife ecosystems of the area. Thus, for another year, we could host the Honeybees societies of Mr George Sotiriou. As Mr George told us, this year, there was a good harvest of pollen from the flowers of the savoury herb (Satureja hortensis) in the area. We wish you a good and productive season Mr George!
